Our Story Begins Here

Our Mission

Celebrate Neurodiversity is a grassroots initiative dedicated to amplifying neurodivergent voices. We feature autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent creators to build understanding, challenge assumptions, and celebrate the gifts within the community.

As 2025 began and our national landscape steamrolled further into divisiveness, I knew that I had to start showing up differently. I couldn’t sit in overwhelm. Instead, I wanted to do something to lift up community, to create space for expression, joy, and inclusion.

But what could I do as one person? I started with what I have been gifted in this life—family.

I grew up in a home of literature and art. And I grew up acutely aware that I was different. My brain could easily go into overdrive, my words would come rapidly, and thoughts would dance on top of each other. My strong need to be alone was at odds with social expectations. When the push of just get along took hold, self-soothing came in the form of what I now know is stimming. Yet my overlapping thoughts, my solitude, and my ability to understand myself at a young age gave me a world of creativity. Books, writing, theatre, and singing along to songs on repeat became my refuge, my art. Now, as a mother of two highly creative neurodivergent boys and the partner of a wonderfully unique husband, I have been blessed to recognize myself on the spectrum too.

So I began looking for ways to build neurodiversity awareness and affirmation locally, with art as a focus. What I have found are incredible people living in compassion and lifting up individuality. With our voices—our stories—we connect, we create, we celebrate.
